Answer» I have just tried INSTALLING some software on my laptop running Vista. I have installed the same software from the same DISKS on 2 separate desktops running XP Home and XP Pro with no problems.
On the laptop I get a MS Windows error message stating: "Administration has STOPPED working" "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
That's it!
It does say "ADMINISTRATION" not "ADMINISTRATOR"
I have only one user account, set up as administrator.
Anyone have any ideas? Vista 32-bit, or 64-bit? What program is it? Link, please. Do you have UAC enabled? Try to right click on installation file, and click "Run As Administrator".You will probably save yourself a lot of time by contacting the developer of the application you're trying to install and ASKING them. The software I was trying to install is a CAD package. It is not officially supported on Vista although net sources tell me it will run. I got it working by logging in as administrator in Safe Mode and installing for there. Thanks for the comments.

This may be a clue here...
