Answer» Hey guys, i have a friends comp, P4, 256 ram, just basic. They kept getting error messages, couldnt get into comp, then it WOULD restart over and over, safe mode wont work either. Im trying to reinstall windows, 3 times in a row, gets to the Terms of AGREEMENT, i push F8, then i get this error message. "Registry_error check to MAKE sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates u might need"
Technical info is STOP:0X00000051 (0X00000003,0X00000003,0X00000000,0XE1184000) I ran mem test and found no problems, any ideas what i should TRY next??? thanksAre you booting to the CD?yesThe above error may be also caused by hardware problem. Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287i tried, unplugging floppy and cd burner, then tried changing out harddrive with working one, and tested voltage on power connector. Still keeps rebooting, and cant reinstall windows.it is not everytime the problem with machine. If u are installing from CD and if the cd life warranty is quite old,it may not be gettin read proplerly. So try once with a differnt cd.let me know.
