Solve : Error Within Windows XP C Drive Compression?

Answer»

I hope that someone can shed light on this problem. I'm running windows XP Pro and I have the C drive set to compress to save space. I made a MISTAKE and also used Registry Mechanic to compress the C Drive as well. It made the files bigger than they are. So I'm showing I have 1.25 GB of space available when it should be half used and half free on the hardrive. Is there anyway to fix this problem? Or do I just have to wait and SEE it fix itself?Disk COMPRESSION is something i stay away from as much as i can...
Try and UNDO the Reg Mechanic compression FIRST of all and if successful i'd make sure everything is running fine after a few cold boots and turn off the Windows compression as well.
Registry Mechanic is not a tool to be taken lightly as it can often create way more issues than it can solve.
Good Luck.

P.S. I believe RM makes a backup of the Registry specifically for un-doing changes...
