We have done a virus,spyware/bot scan and all checks out. It is a BRAND new Dell with XP and runs just one software program.If it's brand new, has not been connected to a network and only certifiably clean and suitable software has been installed, then it's ALMOST certainly a hardware fault. Check the Event Viewer logs. Out of interest, what tools did you use to scan for malware etc? surf75..... If this PC is brand new and has never been connected to the internet ....I would be contacting Dell . BTW , the one software program that it runs ....... did it come from Dell with the new pc ? dl65

You seem very sure of that...... Why? What have you done to eliminate that possibility with so much certainty?
For one it does not have access to the internet. We have done a virus,spyware/bot scan and all checks out.

It is a BRAND new Dell with XP and runs just one software program.If it's brand new, has not been connected to a network and only certifiably clean and suitable software has been installed, then it's ALMOST certainly a hardware fault. Check the Event Viewer logs.
