my COMPUTER won't  load windows.

i have windows 98 second edition,i downloaded new updates from windows update and once i rebooted my system i could not load windows.  My computer say there is error in loading windows.  Is there something i can do to fix this problem or do i need to take the system in for service.  , Quote

That's up to you.  How much time and effort are you willing and able to spend to fix it yourself?
You most likely downloaded MULTIPLE updates without resetting when PROMPTED?either hit the CTRL f8 or f5 key on booting...safemode..and chose START windows normally...what happens..
