Solve : failed access from links and tabs on outlook? |
|
Answer» OFTEN I receive email with links , tabs or buttons to open other info usually form websights. I had a virus that I successfully got rid of, and now, from time to time, I get an email with a link that will not work when I click on it. Everything else seems to be OK, and this problem did not occur B4. I use Outlook EXPRESS (cant find what version) and , of course winXP. SUGGESTION Please. My skills are limited. bucxYou can always highlight the link, right click and hit copy. Then paste it in your address/location bar right click hit pasteThanks XPUser, That is what I've been doing. But I ddn't ever have to do this B4 a few day ago. I'd just like to get it fixed so I won't have to move back and forth to my browser, where I'm also fighting low speed problems. BucxIf you are willing to switch to Mozilla Thunderbird, it is a free email client from mozilla, it is a great email prog. There is an addon for T-Bird called Thunderbrowse https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/5373 that opens the webpage from T-Bird so you dont have to touch your browser for email links, and the it is based on the technology from Firefox, the Gecko layout engine. If you want to still use Outlook, we'll do some troubleshooting. Thanks XPU I'll keep your info and may switch later, but but for now I'd like to stay with Outlook. I don't know if this applies, but a while back I had a malware, FINALLY,used your sight suggestion and got rid of it OK. In the mean time while looking for any help I could get I downloaded Stopzilla antivirus. I've been having different problems since. Today I got a message that my virtual memory was low and my browser wouldn't open for a while. Could Stopzilla be the problem. Minimum skills. bucxCan you list all the security programs on your PC (AntiVirus, AntiSpyware, etcBetter yet list all the Extensions you are currently running in FireFox...Thanks much for your interest and reply. I am currently not running foxfire. The security items on my PC are: Norton antivirus Stopzilla antivirus ( do not run both at the same time) CCleaner Super antispyware malwarebytes Free registry fix BucxFree Registry Fix is probably the issue... Get rid of it and give up on all registry fix it up Apps from here out....Patio thanks a bunch I did just that yesterday, by coincidence, after a friend told me he had been advised to download spybot and dump all the rest. What do you think. How about Norton? I have heard some bad tales about them. My subscription is good thru December. Bucx I would switch to a Free alternative such as Avast or AVG... Norton is a resource hog and you and your machine will be happier with it gone... Norton Removal Tool Run this tool after removing Norton from Add/Remove programs... Then do a diskclean and defrag from Start/Programs/Accessories. Re-boot after each step. |
