Answer» Hi,
I have a Dell INSPIRON 1501 aptop running Windows XP Professional. About two weeks ago, it BEGAN to shut down suddenly, after only about a minute turned on. After a LITTLE bit of investigation, I realized the fan wasn't turning on, so the computer was shutting down to avoid overheating. But then when I booted from Hirens, the fan worked, telling me this is a Windows problem.
In a thread I read elsewhere, someone having a similar fan problem reinstalled Windows and that fixed it. But I'd like to avoid that if at all possible.
Thanks for your help, CassidyI doubt this is a windows issue and it just KEPT running a bit LONGER from the boot CD... What happened prior to this ? ?
