Ok im running windows xp home edition on a hp pavilion. The fans, dvdrom, and hdd turn on, but the blue light to show the cpu is running doesnt light up, and the computer doesnt boot up, the screen STAYS blank, and the computer makes no noise to signal its running. I would really like any help with this matter. Thank you.The blue light shows hard drive activity not CPU actions.
Open the case after REMOVING all power sources and make sure all drive connections are snug.
Be careful in there and pay attention.ok, i made all connections snug, but it still does the same thing.....ahhh i need my computer back!!! its not dead is it?Have you tried a different monitor?
When you turn your computer on you should see a message to press a certain key to enter SETUP. It is USUALL an F key or esc or del. Do you see this? If so, press that key and enter setup. i tried two monitors, and still no screen, i am baffled, its aggravating.....Did you make any HARDWARE or software changes brfore this started?
Can you get into setup?no, all i did was move it from room to another, and i cant get in2 setup, all i can do is stare at the little green light and hope i have pyschic abilties strong enough to fix it lol...Moved to another room - could be a RAM module shaken loose.
