Solve : files disappeared, no javascript? |

Answer» I cannot see my windows files and directories - when i open my harddisk(C:\), on status bar, it tells the number of files, etc but i cant see them ... same is with the control panel - i cant see anything .. it just comes up as as empty window. Also I cant click on anything i.e. developed in javascript - i.e. javascripting in my IE is enabled, but still i dont see/cant use javascript when i visit the sites. http://superwin.com/freeware.htm Did you try this?ch sajid.......Please tell me that you wiped your hard drive and didn't just install Win XP over ME ........... Sounds like you didnt ........When will you people learn......oh well.......Here's what to do ........go to another pc ( one that isnt infected ) and D/l stinger and save it to a floppy disk...... http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ Now run this on the infected pc......Warning ......DO NOT CONNECT to the Internet until you have removed the viruses with stinger and then installed your Norton ..... now go on-line and open Norton and get the latest updates . FYI....the reason you cant install Norton is that the virus is probably preventing you from doing the install. let us know how you make out . dl65 www.grisoft.com - free virus scanner. www.zonelabs.com - free firewall. Use Stinger first, which is as far as I can tell designed as a last resort for virus-ridden viruses. The AVG scanner (above) is a free full scanner which you can then use as your main one. Don't ever use Kazaa again. I thought you could get special upgrade editions?hi all many thx for replying ... i have solved the problem and all is working alright now. yes i upgraded win me to win xp .... dint wiped the hard drive coz i m not much expert in it and also i wanted to try upgrading first to win xp and then see wat happens .... which worked quite good. " READING .....the problem from .....ch sajid......it sounded like he had ME installed ....was infected by a virus ....couldn't clean it up so installed XP over top ......I didnt see any referance to upgrading from ME to XP ...... My point was and is ....that the best way is to wipe the drive clean and start fresh........upgrades excluded......and even then ...its a good idea to format , then install the previous O/S and then upgrade to the new one ......( all the crap is cleaned out ) cheers dl65 How is Aresgalaxy watched by government or police?
