Answer» I recently reformatted my computer. However, after reinstalling Windows 98 SE, the floppy DRIVE no longer READ properly. It freezes the entire SYSTEM for about 5 minutes before failing.
If I boot up into dos from the CD, I can see the floppy drive correctly. Moreover, the floppy drive is the first drive to check for booting, and is checked. The problem starts when I'm in windows, or a dos-prompt from windows.
Hopefully somebody has seen this before. Using a IBM 2178 50UHave you went to the control panel to the device manager double click on your floppy disk CONTROLLER,then when the floppy appears..right click delete and then reboot?
Normally if that don't WORK you have a failing floppy drive,or bad connections to the drive.
