Solve : floppy image creator?

Answer»

You tried creating a FLOPPY by extracting the driver files from the INTEL Matrix Storage Manager package? (SP32492)
Quote

7.2 Use one of the following command examples to extract the
driver files from the different package types:

c:\iata_cd.exe -a -a -p c:\<path>
c:\iata_enu.exe -a -a -p c:\<path>
c:\setup.exe -a -p c:\<path>

When run, the installation process begins; simply click
through the dialogs as PROMPTED. This will not install
the driver, it will only extract the driver files to
<path>. After the extraction is completed, the driver
files can be found in <path>\Driver.
I guess I hadn't done it that way, I had assumed there was no difference -I hope I was wrong! Thanks... I'll LET you know how it goes. Well, sadly, same result. The XP install program asks me for the "intel storage manager driver" as above and I put in the disk and nothing. Now I'm stuck...I'm out of ideas... Maybe you should GET in touch with HP and hear if they're familiar with this issue.Thank you all for your help... HP won't help me unless I pay them $59.99. I have another identical laptop here, I might create recovery discs with that, then recover the laptop I've been working on, at least to go back to XP Media Center...
