Solve : folder backup problem?

Answer»

hello everybody,

my problem is that i try to back up a folder into a flash drive from my computer and set a schedule for daily backup but the computer would ask me to provide a password which if i just click ok, it will accept it by telling me that I HAVE AGREED TO USE A BLANK PASSWORD but if i check the schedule task, it will tell me at thtimeitought to backup that THE BACKUP DID NOT WORK BECAUSE I DIDNT SUPPLY A PASSWORD.

also if i later SETUP a backup later and put a password during the advance setup, the message i ALWAYS receive is as follow

AN ERROR HAS OCCURED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SET TASK ACCOUNT INFORMATION. THE SPECIFIC ERROR IS 0x800070005: ACCESS IS DENIED.

YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO PERFORM THE REQUESTED OPERATION.

Please help me on what to do to solve this problem as the folder is very very essential to me.Does SYSTEM have at least write permission on the data you are backing up?
Check the permissions, and add the SYSTEM if needed.
My system is the adminstrator, so i dont see why i password will be required before i can backup a folder.

Suprisingly, i created a folder on a different system entirely, set a schedule backup and i STILL receive the same kind of response from the computer.

I want the system to always automatically backup the folder for me instead of I manually backking up the folder.

Please I need a help.First find the Task in the Task Scheduler window...
Right click it and select Properties...
At the bottom where it says Run As type in nt authority\system...
This will ask for a password don't enter one just click on OK and Yes on the No Password warning...

If this does not work delete the task and do the procedure over from start.Hello Patio,

I have already done what you ask me to do. but it is still the same. but a friend of mine did some certain thing on his system yesterday when he was trying to help me to solve the problem.

what he simply did was to go to
CONTROL PANEL-
ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS-
COMPUTER MANAGEMENT-
LOCAL USER AND GROUP-
DOUBLE CLICK USER-
SELECT ADMINISTRATOR-
CLICK ON ACTION FROM THE MENU BAR-
CLICK ON SET PASSWORD-
CLICK ON PROCED AND ENTER A PASSWORD, THEN CONFIRM THE PASSWORD.

then restart the system, you will be prompt to enter a password for the adminstrator when window is loading.

then he set the backup schedule and it works.

you can let others have a feel of this.

thanks Lateef.
Glad to hear that method worked for you and thanx for posting a solution...
Not sure why the other one didn't though.
