Solve : Following on from my problems?

Answer»

Following my thread about the problems I am having, would it be EASIER just to do a system restore to back when the computer was first bought (6 years ago)

I'm not that bothered about loosing any files on it such as pics/music.

Only query I have is what would happen to my internet/outlook connections as 6 years ago I wasnt with Blueyonder.

How do I go about a system restore on ME?

Thanks
Well, we don't remember what your problems were. It is up to you to state them in each post.

If it has been six years, you would probably be best served by a clean install, but for help with TRYING to do a system restore:

Windows builds up such amazing amounts of debris EVEN in 1 year, so all problems could readily be put behind you. Do you have a Windows CD?Yes I have the disks at home (I think).  I'll need to get myself up into the attic and have a look beforehand.

Its the Windows ME OS I am using.Good for you that you have them. Seriously consider that reinstall.  When I do the reinstall, will this repair and install all the correct drivers again? No, drivers will need to be loaded, and updated ones would probably be a good idea. You can download those ahead of time. WHat make/MODEL of computer, motherboard, sound and graphics, etc? If you don;t know download and run Everest Home. It's FREE and then we can go driver hunting if needed.Thank you.

Its a Compaq Presario PC that I have.  I'm not sure on much else really (not computer minded at all)

I'm sure its a AMD athlon processor thats in it.Get the model # before you blank it out. It's probably on the case, or Everest can readily find it. Processor info will be there as well.

There is no good reason to not know what is in your computer.
