how to pasword protect my Hard drive,so that illegal users cant format my drive or steal my HD. ALSO how to prevent illegal users fron entering in the safe mode so that they cant gain access to my folders.i am sure there is software out there  that can passowrd protect your hard drive but am sure it will NEVER be fullproof agiast hackers best thing to do is stay away from file sharing programs and becareful what sites u visit otherwise not much u can do am afriad unless u know a hacker who knows how to make ur pc hackerproof.just try google hard drive password software.suppose having some software is better than nothing.hope i have helpedYou best bet for sensitive data is to use encryption.  WINDOWS XP PRO has an encryption system built in which you can activate, but unfortunately it is rather weak.  I would suggest investigating the freeware version of PGPDisk, which you can obtain as part of the PGPDesktop suite, here.  It may be the answer you're looking for.And we have had some stories people here who have managed to protect their data from themselves as well. They were really in a MESS.
