Solve : format D:/?

Answer»

Hello

With the help of street1 i have reinstalled my Windows XP , but before i reinstalled xp i had more used space on my C:/ then on my D:/ now i got a lot more space being used on my D:/ (mostly win98 zip files and such).  Well what i want to do is format my D:/ but i dont know because it LOOKS like my whole system is installed on D:/.
I have a win98 cd-rom (no product key) and a WinXP upgrade cd-rom , will i have to find and purchase another win98 , format both hard drives , install win98 , install winxp upgrade or what.
Hope you fine folks can understand what this old man is talking about.  What i am after is a new start , and cannot afford an full version of xp now.
Thanks
harleyYou could look at the files you currently have on both drives, by going to My Computer and checking the contents of each drive.  Optionally, you could open a command PROMPT and use the dir command to see the contents of each drive as well.

Are you sure the D: drive is not your CD drive?  Remove any CDs currently in your computer and check the D: drive again.

Also, was Windows 98 installed on the c: drive?  If so, the upgrade should have defaulted to the drive where your current Windows installation was.

Will wait for your answer...Saviour

Thanks for REPLY. I am so confused now i dont know which way is up.  All i know is that programs that were working and i was using like winzip , mcafee anti-virus ,ad-aware , outlook express , games and so on dissapeared after i reinstalled xp so i started reinstalling everything  , come to find out that all my programs has a folder on my d drive.
Well anyway Street1 is working with me on TRYING to get this thing back to nothing and starting over.
Thanks again
