Hey all. I'm looking for a free virus program for my girl's computer. I have AVG and ran it, but for some reason I think there is still a virus on it. For some reason pinball on her computer won't work, it GETS to the main screen but then shuts off. I tried looking for a site that has the pinball game that comes standard for most Windows but can't find it.


Any help would be great!AVG is one of the best out there, I don't see how it wouldn't get rid of all infections.

Other good free virus scanners are TrendMicro http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and Kaspersky http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus

[edit]If you want a good trojan SCANNER use ewido SECURITY suite, it is VERY good. Also, for adware/spyware ad-aware personal SE[/edit]AVG is fairly good for a free solution. It's certainly not a top ranking solution.
You'll find links to other free AV packages [highlight]here[/highlight] and [highlight]here[/highlight]. Read up as much as you can before finally deciding on a package.
Don't forget that malware (Spyware, trojans, hijackers etc) protection is at least as necessary as virus protection these days.

If you think you're still infected, carry out the procedures listed [highlight]in this post[/highlight] and post a Hijackthis logfile here when done.
If possible, zip the logfile and ATTACH it rather than post it.
