After logging in to my user profile, Vista FREEZES on the 'loading......' screen, with the blue background. It just freezes and I have to do a manual restart by hoilding down the on/off button on my pc. It will start up in SAFE mode after that and sometimes in normal mode. It's very INCONSISTENT though and usually takes me two or three attempts to get fully loaded in normal mode. Any help appreciated.

There was a post similar to this but it didn't seem to reach a conclusion. Try a clean boot (from within your profile open msconfig and choose "selective startup" - disable everything from loading - and reboot).
