Answer» I frequently get the BLUE screen with the following message:
Stop: 0x0000008E (0XC0000005,0X8054B51A, 0XB3A9EB94,0X00000000).
The 3rd notation within the parenthesis is usually different each time.
How do I fix this? Thanks. Are you running XP SP3?Yes, I am running XP sp3Okay. Here are the troubleshooting steps for that error:
1) If you recently updated any HW drivers, roll back 2) If you did NOT update any drivers, update them now (video, audio) and look for a bios flash 3) Run a diagnostic on the ramDownload BlueScreenView (in Zip file) No installation required. Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program. When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All. Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt. Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and PASTE it into your next reply.I seem to have solved the Blue Screen problem! I remembered that I had cleaned the registry ( and removed some KEYS) a few weeks back. Assuming that may be the problem, I removed and reinstalled an old registry that I had save a year or so ago. No BS's now for several days - that's a recent record. Let's hope it stays that WAY! Thanks Allan and thanks Broni, for your efforts - I very much appreciate your help.Okay, good news. Now stop using registry cleaners. Also, you'll have to reinstall any applications that were installed since that registry was originally saved.Quote Now stop using registry cleaners . Ditto.
