I just freshly loaded a machine with an operating system and all went smoothly right down to the message to restart the machine. After I restarted the machine, the operating system was not there. I tried TWO different operating systems with the same result. Whats wrong? [emailprotected]

Also what operating systems are you trying to use? And are they copies of a Microsoft disk?

When it tried to restart I was given a message that no operating system was found.Okay, not sure how you are installing but this time boot to the XP CD and choose the option to delete all partitions and then recreate the system partition, format, and install. You ARE using a retail, original XP CD, correct?yes it is an original, retail, cd of xp. I FORMATED to one large drive.Okay. Try as I suggested. And although it will take longer, let it do a FULL format (CHECKS for & repairs hd errors)ok, I will try it that way after I get home from work right after lunch. thanks
