That computer will run XP I think, but it won't be that nice. That processor should be sufficient. A complete install of Windows XP takes about 3-3.5GB hard drive space. However, when the installation is complete and Windows is running, there are a NUMBER of unnecessary things you can remove and get it down to about 1.5-2GB. To be honest though, I'd upgrade the hard drive if you have the money. I haven't seen a 10GB drive in years, so I expect that one is quite aged. If you don't want to get a new drive, at the very least start keeping regular backups of anything IMPORTANT (documents, photos, etc.). ALSO keep in mind the amount of space Windows XP updates are going to take. I'd suggest putting in a bit more RAM (I'd recommend 512MB, but 256MB will suffice).Quote from: Ademil4vic on September 10, 2011, 05:06:49 AM Am using a pentium 3 pc green tower cassing computer.OS window95 and i want to reload and upgrade it to servic pack 1 of xp.can it be possible? Yep, that will run XP just fine. I'd recommend getting SP3, though.SP3 is available as a free Windows Update. 10GB is rather little for additional programs, though-the windows install already uses about 1.2 GB. |
