Solve : Generic Host Process problem?

Answer»

Hi,

I am using WindowsXP Prof with SP2 installed. I have dial-up connection. Whenever I connect to the internet using my Dial-Up, after some time ummm about 1 hour or 30 MIN approximately, a message box comes up saying "Generic Host Process caused an error and needs to close". I am not sure of what exact message it is but I am 100% sure that the basic theme of that message is what I mentioned here. After some time, whether I press OK button or not, my internet disconnect. Although it shows an icon near the windows time but thats was just icon.

I have installed updated and fixes from Microsoft Site but still getting same message.
Any suggestion and ideas will be really really appreciated.

Thanks,

But I am sorry to say that I still have the same problem. I am sending an images showing the message I GET when the problem starts.
One more thing that I want to MENTION is that after this message, my volume control stops working as well.

[old attachment deleted by admin]So does it mean that none of this huge community know the solution of this problem?Have you looked here?
There is a hotfix there, and details of why the error occurs.
Hope this helps. There is no Hotfix to download. Just technical description.Yes, scroll down a little and there is a download link for different operating systems.
Assuming you are using 32-bit XP, here is the direct link to download this hotfix.
Hope this helps.
