Solve : Get Off My Lawn, Dell Backup and Recovery Manager!? |
|
Answer» Soluto has been AWESOME (from what I can tell) - it shaved a lot of time off the boot. And I put in a solid state drive (oh, if the corporate overlords found out about that!), which also helped.
I've attached the .ini and the .bat files. (I've renamed the .ini to .txt for attachment purposes) I'm wondering if it's the .bat file that's causing the "Dell Backup and Recovery Manager" (DBRM) and "Dell Smart Settings" to run on startup... And if I just commented out those lines, would that help? [RECOVERING DISK space, attachment deleted by admin]Oh, what the heck. *BUMP*No need to bump this thread. The thread is old and dry. The issue is resolved.Ignore the last Post... What happens when you disable those Dell applets in StartupCPL ? ? msconfig is NOT the proper tool for this which is why i recommended what i did. Nothing happens. In the screen shot, you can see that they're disabled in that Startup CPL program you recommended, but they "don't exist" on the hard drive. And they still load when I boot. Very frustrating!Do a search for *.bat in Explorer... This will list all .bat files on the PC.The "DCSUStart.bat" loads a different Dell "benefit" that I'd never seen before. Nothing else looks out of the ordinary (to me). |
