Solve : getting rid of a .bin file?

Answer»

i have a file that i have no NEED for anymore as i have already used it. but i can;t get rid of it. everytime i try and delete it, it keeps saying that the file can't be deleted because it is being used by another progrsm.

I have tried getting rid of it in safe mode. I have removed all possible programs it can be linked to and i have tried modifing the file to no avail.

i want to get rid of it because it is taking up room.

any help would be great.

ThanksWhat exactly is the file?
If you're absolutely sure you don't need it, give Pocket KillBox a try.no i don't need it and thanks i'll try THATTHAT program didn't work either. but thanks anywayThis is starting to sound a bit like an infection...
What protection do you have? And what OS is on your computer?

You can search for the file with Process Explorer to see what program is using it.coupled with file monitor , you MIGHT be able to find which processes is holding onto the file.. a .bin file is a disc image file (like an iso) and you say you can't delete it... Do you by chance have any kind of virtual disc drive software installed (Daemon Tools, Nero ImageDrive, ETC) and have you remembered to unmount the .bin file?if you REALLY want to get rid off it use a program called unlocker
