Solve : getting rid of old XP laptop? |

Answer» What is the best and safest way of getting rid of my old XP laptop. Thank youTake the hard drive out or use http://www.dban.org/ to securely erase it. Then see if the laptop is worth anything to sell, if not, take a look at charities that may take it.I keep all my HDD's when i sell/recycle any PC's...think i have around 45 or so...I would suggest RETAINING or physically destroying the hard drive myself. All drives I have that are failed or decommissioned I physically destroy or retain as a drive that has data backed up to it that can be installed and SPUN up to get data off of if ever needed.A sledge hammer will do the job.
