Solve : Giving credit where it's due..?

Answer»

A few here have given me some pokes for slamming the great MS over things from time to time.. but just to show ya you're wrong, I don't always rag or diss em.. a few things...
Windows 7. So far, it's been great! Fast, CLEAN, no screwy monkey business. Other than an issue on e-mail "saving" since it doesn't come with an e-mail client..I never have been able to retrieve them.. it's been a SOLID program! So hopefully the ghost of Vista is gone from my machine! I feel I can count on this one again! New features are cool, and once USED to them they were "put there for a reason", IMPROVEMENT! Not "new for news sake".... just as it ought to be! Good for them... If this new system runs as good from now on, I hope they sell a zillion of them.. most pleased I've been since XP!
2nd.. Works.... neat little program... but saving to .wps left it an "orphan".... only usable with other works programs for the most part. Kind of a dumb move.... But now we have.... >>> TADA <<< Works "9"!!! Works 9 now can both open and save in wps or .DOC format!!! As a matter of fact, it's "Office Compatible" across the board!! Documents or Excel spreadsheets... can do em both! plus a "Powerpoint Viewer".... So those who don't NEED full Office, but DO need to go back and forth have a useful AND economical solution at last!! So..TWO moves in the RIGHT direction!!
3rd.. Media Center actually WORKS on this one!! Was watching old TV re-runs of Hawaii 5-0 the other day on it!! COOL!!!! Book em Danno!!

So there you have it... still going thru this thing, but so far.. Right on!!
Good job MS......

Best reason so far for going with Windows 7. The comment was meant to show that Media center actually WORKED on this system.. Vista's was a mess... jeez.....I just want to KNOW how to find 5-O reruns on Media Center Media center....TV.. Internet TV.... Guide.... CBS classic... and just scroll the shows by until you get the one you want then click and enjoy! For those of us who dumped our "satellite TV".. it's great. Now if only you get get the "Fox News" channel...... life would be good!Quote from: jkolak on February 12, 2010, 05:25:56 AM

The usefulness and ease of the new Media center is cool. WE dumped our Direct TV to get a fast DSL line.. we use netflix... and online content instead of the "boob tube"..... we do get some of the "free " tv off air channels... but find since we ditched the "box" we get a LOT more stuff done, and find BETTER things to watch when we DO!Quote from: soybean on February 12, 2010, 01:33:58 PM
