This should really be in the Virus and Spyware section....
What you have is what we refer to as "scumware"...phony virus apps that just want to seperate you from your hard-earned money...
The trouble is is that they are insidious...and very often extremely hard to remove unless SOMEONE who KNOWS what they're doing assists...

CPU fan turns off, BIOS shuts off computer, no hardware damaged.
CPU overheats, BIOS shuts off computer, no hardware damaged.
Drive reformatted, no hardware damaged.
