Solve : Hard Drive working constantly?

Answer»

10 minutes after start up, my computers' hard drive is constantly working for about 30 minutes rendering my computer useless. SHUTTING off and on my DSL modem seems to stop it. I've checked for viruses and spyware but nothing came up. There are no scheduled tasks such as defrag. Thank you for any advice.

It looks like you have WinXP-SP2. It's probably trying to download & install SP3, SP2 support ended in July.
