Solve : Hard Freeze when running Bit Torrent?

Answer»

Hey guys,

I have Win. Vista Ult. x64 and it freezes when I run bit torrent... Any suggestions, or software recommendations would be appreciated...  Heya.

I know of no specific compatibility problems with BT (the client) and vista, especially 64.

I would suggest trying another client UTORRENT ( http://www.utorrent.com/ ) is very good, it has effectively exactly the same layout as BT, and its smaller. But with utorrent remember to SEED, as if your ratio gets  very low utorrent will slow ur downloads to ENCOURAGE you to seed.

Good luck, hope this helped. Quote from: SN1P3R on April 24, 2009, 11:49:38 AM

Thanks, I did try u torrent and I have the same problem.....Heya, sorry for the slow reply.

Well, then there are other things you can try.

Two things, goto the BT or UT ICON and right click, goto properties then compatibility, then check the box that says ' run in compatibility mode', then pick, 'windows XP sp2 (service pack 2)'. Then click OK.

Try to run the program again.

If it still doesn't work, then right click and click 'run as administrator'

then SEE if it works.

If it still doesn't work then i'm not sure of anything else you can do. Let me know though.uTorrent has been running non-stop on my Vista x64 laptop for over two weeks; no problems.

This might be an issue with your network drivers/hardware.I downloaded Vuze and it works fine.... Weird....Lol, kk, vuze is great, especialy for video. However its not the best bitorrent client ever, but it works. Good luck with ur illegal downloads.
