Solve : Harddrive crash? need help!?

Answer»

Ok today i turned on my comp and came to the start in safe mode and all that good writing.. well anyhoo it started to read a D drive and said something about FAT32 and after it read to 100% the comp just restarted itself. It keeps on doing this whenever it does that. It will not load to Windows XP, just restarts =(. Any help anyone? im kinda noobish when it comes to comps and etc.1st of all,why you start in safe mode?never mind
OK, is that hdd being partition into C & D?
Right CLICK the D drive, properties - tools - Disk Check - tick the 2 available option - ok.
Perhaps you should do the same with the C drive.I got a C and D drive, thing is i cant get into my Desktop. When i try to get into safe mode i see alot of writing scroll down my black screen and then it just reboots all over again =/http://www.sohologics.com/fileadmin/newsletter/news0201/safe-mode04.jpg

like that?and then shutdown?YEA! THATS the screen then it shuts down and starts back up again with options to choose with safe mode and others. I got no idea whats going on with this comp ugh! makes me sad =/do you have any add on card?sound card?graphic card?any add on...
take it out and see what happen, it could be your Os too,but we go for it one by one
&, you have two hdd? take out the D, leave the Master
Nopers i dont. Just got 1 HD that is partitioned in C and D im guessing. i hate compsit could be overheat, but if the computer restart every TIME with that perfect TIMING & same location (safe mode) it would be other problem
Do you have extra hdd that you can try in that pc?
or reformat the hdd.
But wait for the other pro's here, they could give you any idea.Nope sure dont have extra HDs lyin around, wish i did =/. It restarts regardless of Safe mode, every route i try to go with the options they give me results in a restart of the comp. Wont even let me touch the desktop *SIGH* i just wanna throw my comp out lol. Well a Format is the last thing i am looking for, just trying to salvage some stuff on the HD if i can then format.well, hook it up in another pc as a slave, but it could result shutdown again, who knows

Then you can transfer the data exist in the hdd.
Good Luck anyway if you can't wait for other support here Bump!

I think you are getting a Blue Screen (bsod) error but cannot see the error code due to your having your system set to automatic restart on error.

Please post some info on your hardware setup e.g. do you have a floppy drive?

Download and run Memtest86 from memtest86.com and the manufacturer's diagnostics for your hard drive from the manufacturer's site.

Good luck

Welp i got alot of bad sectors in the harddrive, so it did end up in a Crash of the HD

What are my options in trying to get any info back, also couldnt i just format the whole HD and have it back to normal somehow? the store guy said he'll have to get a new HD and transfer all the old data from the old one to the new hd so its gonna cost me a arm and a leg by that being $210 with Labor being more then the HD ugh.Quote from: Mirekbenz83 on October 02, 2007, 11:15:53 AM

Your options are to have a repair guy do that by installing a new HDD and then transferring all your files to the new HDD or you do it yourself but you will still need a new HDD which is not that expensive. I hope you still have XP discs.Hook up that HDD jumpered as a slave into a known working machine that has a burner in it...
Transfer what you need to the working HDD and then burn it to CD/DVD...don't try a direct burn.
