Answer» Thank you dahlarbear. I tried and succeeded to get a COPY of the " HAL.DLL" file on a flash DRIVE. The computer now has a functioning HDD with WINDOWS XP on it and the 20 gig drive is seen by Windows so I backed up... (well, copied the documents folder to a DIFFERENT flash drive), found the HAL.DLL file and copied that to a flash drive also, a different flash drive by the way. Can someone tell me, how I might "install" the HAL.DLL file to the 20gig drive PLEASE? That is all the 20 gig drive needs to (perhaps), get it fully working. Thank you ImnoGuru
