Answer» Hi, I have windows xp pro w/sp2 My PC keeps RESTARTING and I checked the forum.. and I believe it's the hd controller.
it says: The DRIVER detected a controller error on \device\harddisk0\D type: error Event ID:11
can I put it on my other IDE2 controller?
I hope I made this clear and thanks!
spiderYou can... But i'd try re-installing your MBoard drivers first...Patio, For those of us who WANT to know. If he reinstalls the motherboard drivers, what other drivers should he reinstall that might depend on their new configuration?
And how would one go about reinstalling the other drivers? Work through "Device Manager" updating the drivers one by one? Uninstall the drivers (or remove the device) and have Windows rediscover them?
Inquiring minds want to know... dahlarbearThe MBoard drivers are all installed in one package with most MBoards...these include chipset drivers;network controllers; onboard sound and video etc. This task will not affect any other drivers on the machine such as add on CARDS (audio; video) etc. It's usually done by cliking setup.exe on the Driver CD that shipped with the MBoard.hi patio , I already done that "reinstalling my motherboard drivers", I also reinstalled the OS just to MAKE sure.. of course backup is what I have always!
Thanks. Spider Thank you Patio. --dahlarbear
