Answer» Hey A while ago, I tried Vista on a SPARE HDD to get a feel for it. After i was done, I tried to put XP back on the HDD but it was having none of it- the HDD never worked again and off it went to RMA.
basically- was that just a REALLY nasty co-incidence, or does Vista have some kind of voodoo effect on HDDs if users want to move to another O.S.?
I have a fair understanding of computers, I dont see how its possible, but stranger THINGS have happened..
Cheers!
KennyAre you asking whether Vista broke your hard drive? No it didn't. What would Microsoft GAIN from breaking hard drives? It would prevent users from installing other versions of Windows and would SOONER or later be discovered and lead to a massive lawsuit. Vista have gained a reputation as being hard to get rid of once installed but a low level wipe (sometimes also called zeroing the drive) will get rid of anything, including Vista.
