I also cleaned some porgrams I diding need for my hard drive.Ok I just swiched my mouse, I was use a IBM mouse and I when back to my old microsoft mouse.
I see a little im provement in speed.OK.  Let us start by searching your hard drive for the theme files to verify they are still on your computer. Click Search on the Start menu, select Search for Files and Folders, then type *.theme (that is, and asterisk, a period, and the word "theme") in the Search for Files and Folders Named box, and click the Search button. Let us know if Windows FINDS any and the names of a few of them.

Here's what I can up with. When I try to open one of the XP files, I get a error saying the the theme service is not running. So I went to the control panel and admin tools, Services. Forund the theme manger and restarted it. Them restarted my computer. No luck, it say's its running but I get the same error.
Good, the theme files are still there.  Try this:

First, disable classic view:

1. Right-click the Start button and click Properties.
2. In the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box, select the Start Menu tab and select the Start Menu option button and click OK.

Second, add a theme:

1. Right-click the Windows desktop (wallpaper) and select Properties.
2. In the Display Properties dialog box, select the Themes tab and select the theme you want in the Theme list.
3. If the themes are not in the Theme list, select Browse in the list, and browse to C:\WINDOWS\RESOURCES\THEMES and select the theme file you want.

That should do it!

Let us know how it goes.
DocDiding work, I still get the same error. Sometime ago I instated a WIN 95 theme and it has been like this seence that. Please help. Quote

My guess is that is the cause of your problem.  Windows 95 and XP do not mix well.

Try a repair installation of Windows XP:
