Solve : HELP!! Blue Screen then laptop reboots, sometimes...?

Answer»

Ok, I, every now and again, mostly when I dont need it to, have a problem with my laptop shuttig down. What will happen is my screen goes blue and says a full screen worth of stuff. It bleeps on so fast then shuts down before I can read it. My computer will then reboot, sometimes. What I mean by this is that sometimes will reboot, and others take me to the safe-mode, etc OPTION screen. I can try clicking "safemode" "reboot normally" or "reboot last normal*(or something like that) screen" I am bout the stupidest computer guy ever! If it can go wrong, will happen to me. Any help would be awesome. OHH yeah, btw, sometimes at that safe mode screen when one works, it will say

"Windows could not start because of error in software
Please report this ploblem as: load DLLs for Kernel
Please contact your support person to report this problem"

Does that help any?

I have two other threads as well cause I have 2 other pc's and they are messed up to. Pls give them a look too.I think I have figured this one out. I had Norton and McAfee installed together and Norton said there was a problem and McAfee said all was good. Half way through the scan on Norton, that would happen. So...I uninstalled Norton and was good for a bit. Then it happened again. I have a 2003 Acura RSX drag car with Hondata Kpro on it, I can operate my car from my computer with this via USB. The Hondata was made for Windows 2000 and logo testing not made for XP, so I have deleted that and all is great. I just have to reinstall Hondata with the proper XP procedures. I have 2 other post threads and desparately need help on them, on is about how to uninstall Brave Sentry wo hooking up to the internet.Well, problem not solved, still does it. I have noticed when the laptop GETS a lil warm, it will do it, so I prop it up and it still does it sometimes. When I do a scan, bout halfway through it, it will shut down. BTW when I did a scan and deselected ANTIVIRUS, it ran all night and into the morning without shutting down. Anything guys?Well, since nobody else has an idea, MAYBE I can now help you if this occurs to you. I have found that when we put the laptop on our laps or couch or sit it flat, after awhile it will do this, then I found it was really hot. My fan doesnt come on all the time, and I think something is wrong with the fan. Anyone know how to change or reinstall one, or anything?Yes computers can do strange things when they get too hot. A laptop should always be sitting on a hard and flat surface when turned on by the way. Else you risk overheating.

Since you mention this is an older laptop it sounds likely that a fan is failing. If you tell us the make and model of the laptop someone might be able to give you instructions on how to change it.You should never have 2 Anti-virus applications on one machine...anti-spyware/malware are a different story.
What tends to happen is the 2 AV apps bang heads and cancel each other out or throw out a bunch of false positives because they are detecting each other.
There are many instances where one AV program will see the other as a threat and cause problems...
Pick the one you prefer and dump the other one.

Personally i'd get rid of both and grab AVG Free or Avast.
You're machine will thank you as they are both a little bloated by nature.

DLoad the tool below...

Norton Removal Tool

Do not run it yet.

1) DLoad and install ERUNT and have it make a backup of your registry...
2) Use Add Remove Programs first and un-install Norton...
3) From Windows Explorer search for any folders named Norton and Symantec and delete them...
4) Open regedit and type Norton in the search bar. Delete all entries it finds. F3 takes you to the next instance of Norton. Continue til you have reached the end of the registry...
5) Repeat the above process using Symantec instead in the search field. Delete any Symantec keys it finds...
6) Now run the Norton Removal tool you DLoaded...
7) Empty the recycle bin...
Go to My Computer and right clik the C: drive and select Properties and run disk cleanup...
9) Re-boot and run disk defrag....

There you're done !
