So like a week ago, i did this registry scan and i can't exactly remember what happened but i think i might deleted a .dll file that i shouldn't have deleted.

anyways, after i restarted my computer i got the old 98 look instead of the windows XP, i cannot copy or paste or drag anything. i wont see the start line... My entire computer is just really messed up.. if i try to open Internet EXPLORER it get's an error saying 'cant open page'. if i try to open certain programs like AIM or FF it gives an error with 'can't find 'null'.

I tried to undo all the registry scans, i tried to start up in safe mode but the only thing i get is a black screen then.. also when i open windows task manager and look at my processes it looks like there are way less running than before..

PLEASE HELP!Try Chkdsk, and if you have your Windows XP Installation CD, try to boot from CD and SELECT install the OS. Next, the installer will tell you that exist a Windows XP OS installed on your Hard DRIVE, select the repair option, and you'll see that the OS installation starts, but don't worry, it will just restore all the OS Kernel, it will not delete the installed programs or your files.
