Answer» Hey guys so I would really like to get this problem resolved as SOON as possible!! So I'd appreciate the help if you guys have the KNOWLEDGE!
So i have no idea what could be wrong, I just bought a microsoft certified refurbished computer and i successfully booted the computer with windows 7 but then when I tried to start it again I could boot the computer. When I turn on my computer it opens up with the blue HP invent screen, the computer will not boot, and the screen will not change. When I pressed the F9 (Boot Menu) i was prompted with a black screen with white numbers which stopped loading up to 512 MB, after this the computer stays in the same spot and seems to freeze. The same occurs when F10(Setup) and F12(Network) are selected. The previous error message that appeared does not appear, it only stops at 512MB. The result is the same with or without the Microsoft disk within the disk drive. Keep in mind I've only successfully booted up the computer one time. The second time I wanted to use it I was met with the issues described above. I would very much appreciate some sort of fix or solution to this problem as soon as possible ThankssWhere did you buy this PC ? ? Did you check to see how much RAM is inatalled ? ?Sounds like a memory stick failed. Can you create a burned CD with memtest86, boot the system then off this CD and run it through testing. On the screen for memtest86 it should show the amount of memory installed. Also if you see anything in red show up then you have problems and its more than likely a bad memory stick.
If it came with Windows 7 I could only hope that it came with at least 2GB of memory if Windows 7 32-bit. Hopefully it did not COME with bare minimum of 1GB RAM in which its a pair of 512MB sticks to originally make 1024MB prior to a stick going south. Although it could be 4 x 512MB sticks for 2048MB depending on if the motherboard can take 4 sticks.
Is this a system you bought online to be able to link here to see what you purchased for specs etc?Quote from: mirandacruz on March 29, 2014, 02:36:29 PM ... I would very much appreciate some sort of fix or solution to this problem as soon as possible ...
Contact the vendor ASAP. Was this an EBAY transaction? What kind of warranty did they offer? If the vendor does not wish to help you, please come back here. I have purchased used PCs on eBay bad know that you have to communicate with the vendor. They have the responsibility to makes sure the thing works reliability.
