so my windows completely crashed, is there anyway i can recover the files (pictures) i have on that computer? it was running xp pro and now i just INSTALLED a linux operating systen to try and recover them but that didn't work. HELP PLEASE.... PICS OF MY NEW BABY ON THERE!!!!!What disk space did you install Linux to? Was it the same space that Windows was on?no i made a new partition for the linux but when i'm logged in to linux there is no c: drive present

You made a partition 1. how? 2. where? You had the Windows partition, that took up some space, RIGHT? So was there some other unused space on the disk?
