Hey I recently got my computer from a friend and upgraded it to xp and when i get on it  :-?doesnt go to the welcome screen I HAVE IT SET TO GO TO WELCOME SCREEN WTH!!!!!
Just to clear this up:
(And I'm not totally sure this is the same guy, but I think it is as I directed him to the forums after trying to help in the chat)
He wants it to go to the welcome screen and click his name and enter a password to log in.
In CONTROL Panel --> User Accounts, Use Welcome Screen and Fast User Switching are checked.
The fast User Switching service is set to automatic.
He has restarted after trying this, and the welcome screen does not appear, his PC logs in as the Administrator account.
Hopefully this is a bit more info for you folks to be GETTING on with.
As I say, I was helping him but I simultaneously ran out of ideas for the MOMENT and had to go out, so I directed him here and left.
Hopefully SOMEONE can help.

My pc is ok and i used the same Xp disk my friend used and he CAN go to the welcome screen
