Solve : help installing multi boot?

Answer»

Alright, figured out how to access the 98SE for install. Now I have parttion magic set up with :C win 98 I put abot 800 mb on the fat 32 partition. I set up that partition as active then I go to hit the install new OS button and it goes to reboot the system. I then go directly to boot magic where it has 2 choices to boot the system. I pick 98 and it prepares for install. Here is my dilemma I come to the screen where is SAYS "to remove non-ms dos partition, set up will delete all files on your 1st hard disk (where XP is stored as well I assume) to have set up configure disk remove the partition & configure hard disk. I said ok. Then it says "Set up will remove all existing files & partitions on this disk and then will create a single partition that uses the entire disk. That is where I hope to get some clarity from you guys. It sounds like I am about to lose everything on the disk that I just partitioned for 98SE including all of my programs and XP itself? PLEASE help me with this SOMEONE! I just want to get this thing to work Have you read this?

http://vlaurie.com/computers2/Articles/dualboot.htmYou rock!! So...you have the dual boot working now? Reason I'm asking is because I noticed this post from you, as well...which was made after your most recent post in this thread.

Keep us posted...

BTW...glad I could help.No I ended up reformatting the drive & losing everything. I did not have a system recovery disk. Every where I have looked it seems like I need a floppy drive to do that. Frustrating. I am now working on just getting my BASICS back.
