Red.....You didnt mention the O/S ......I'm guessing its XP ......... and I'm also guessing the message about the office works ...prompts you to put the install cd in the drive .........( which you may not have ) ......So if you go the MS UPDATE page and let it scan the PC .......then look at installed history it probably shows that update as FAILED .......so it keeps trying to install it ......So if you go back to the list of items to be installed and remove that update from the list to be installed and hide it ........those pop-ups should stop .

^^ how do i do that? remove from the list i mean and u were right yhe o\s is xpRed......... When your at the update page , you can choose whether or not to install a update ...........when the list is published you can add it to the list to be installed or if its on the list .....click on remove from list .

did you check the installed history to see if its listed as failed ?
