Answer» MS Windows XP Home SP3, INTEL Celeron, Dell Dimension 2350 Hello, I am having trouble re-installing windows on my desktop. The computer I am using has no CD drive. Therefore, I am trying to use some kind of partition saved on my computer in order to do a long-needed re-installation of the system. But I can't seem to figure out how to do that exactly.. I've TRIED searching for a 'winnt32.exe' and FAILED to find this. Could anyone give any suggestions on what I should look for in order to do this type of re-installation? Thank you. I guess my question would be how you intend to get the Windows files onto the partition without a CD drive.Quote from: quaxo on August 02, 2010, 10:09:58 PM I guess my question would be how you intend to get the Windows files onto the partition without a CD drive. I'm trying to do a PC Restore type thing, but I'm guessing my Dell Dimension doesn't have one, considering it doesn't do anything when I do Ctrl + F11 What happened to CD drive?Quote from: Kodi on August 02, 2010, 10:15:02 PM I'm trying to do a PC Restore type thing, but I'm guessing my Dell Dimension doesn't have one, considering it doesn't do anything when I do Ctrl + F11 Again, that doesn't explain how to get the files from the Windows CD to the partition anyway. Exactly what model of Dell Dimension do you have?Call Dell...they will ship you a replacement CD. |
