Answer» I am currently running windows xp. Every time i turn on my computer a message appears saying the my Virus Signature File is out of date. What is this, How do i fix it.
ThanksSounds like your anti-virus files have not been updated for a while. Try updating whichever anti-virus you are using.
If you need further assist please post details of your hardware and software in use.
I tried updating my anti virus but the message still appears. I am using AVG 9.0 paid edition not the free one. I dont know what you mean by hardware
This is very frustrating. AVG error messages USUALLY include a code, is the error message you posted complete?
Hardware is the bits and pieces which are bolted together to make your pc. We don't even know if you are using a laptop, desktop, notebook etc. When did this error message begin to appear and what, if anything, was added/deleted to/from your pc just prior to its appearance? Does your hardware meet the minimum REQUIREMENTS to run AVG 9 (at least 512 mb ram).
Yes, we get frustrated too, mainly due to lack of information in order to do a reasonable diagnosis of the problem. Perhaps you'd like to read this..
Oh OK sorry i did not provide more info.
I have a Philips based laptop (iQon) it has 512MB Ram, Windows XP media CENTRE sp2
I did not install anything or remove anything.
The only extra software i have on the laptop is Microsoft Office 2007, AVG 9.0, other than that is is factory default.
I tried REINSTALLING the AVG and it did not get rid of the problem either.
All help is appreciated as i need the laptop for college studies.
