I poped in a cd that has music and some executable files. I'm trying to copy those files into my new computer, the proble is that when i put in the cd nothing happens. Then I go to My computer click on the cd drive tht has the cd and NOTHING HAPPENS. I right click it and choose EXPLORE and NOTHING HAPPENS, I right click it and choose play AND NOTHING HAPPENS :-?
What is going on? I know it's reading the cd because I can see the name of the cd on the cd drive icon
I hope you guys can help me......
Thanks in advanceHeloc:
Make sure you are clicking on the correct drive in My Computer.
Make sure the optical drive is working (try putting a different CD in the drive to see if you can explore it).
The CD may be damaged or may be a type that your CD-ROM drive cannot read (for example, some older CD-ROM drives cannot read CDs formatted with the UDF FILE system).
DocYes I'm clicking on the right drive, if I put in a music cd the only way I can play it is by playing it from Windos media player or any other media player. The thing is that it does not let me check the contents of the cd.
When I put in the cd it gives the normal options- open to play it with a media player or open a folder to view files, so I choose Open folder to view files and nothing happens
Could it be just a bad driver even though it's a new computer? If this is a copied CD, it's likely to have been written in "sessions". To view it, you'll need a "session viewer" such as the one provided with some Roxio releases or perhaps something like BadCopy Pro.it's a cd that I made, it has mp3's, and some executable filesPop it back in the burner and open your burning software. Is there an option to "Finalise" the CD?Yes it's aleady checkedHow did you compose this CD? PLEASE give exact details if possible. I'ts not just this cd, it's ANY cd I put in the cd drive. when you put in ANY cd you get the options that NAY computer gets. It's the little screen that says. What do you want to do? Open with WINDOWS media player open with REAL player etc etc. So I want to choose the option that says OPEN FOLDER TO VIEW FILES WITH WINDOWS EXPLORER , so I click it and it takes me to the desk top it's really weird. So then nothing happens, then I go to MY Computer, then I double click on the CD DVD drive(It's a single drive)that shows the name of the cd that's currently in the cd drive and nothing happens. Normally you put in a cd in the cd drive and you can double click the cd drive icon and a folder opens up that shows you the contents of the cd, but this computer does not.
This is exacly what happens step by step.
Quote I'ts not just this cd, it's ANY cd I put in the cd drive.
Why didn't you say this earlier??
