Solve : Help with memory?? |
|
Answer» I am not sure if memory is my problem or not but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. I have a Dell Inspiron lptop and i installed the base game The Sims 2. I tried to install an expantion pack but my game said "game crashine" or aomwthing like that. so i uninstalled everything and reinstalled just the base game and it worked fine. So i downloade a few, not many at all, ite3ms from the Sims Resource and the gme crshed gain during stRTUP. sO GIN I REINSTlled it, minus the downloads and it works fine again. I would like to know if that has something to do with the computer memory or the graphics card. (if thats what it is CALLED). my computer says it has 1.73 GHz 2.00 GB of RAM. I'm not sure where to find the information on the video card. would it be listed somewhere on the computer? What is exact model of your laptop? I'm not a gamer - look here and post results: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest. Also, post harddrive size and free space: Start>My Computer>right-click on harddrive>Properties. Post back with scan results and hd data. Thanks again. I went to the site and it says everything passed for the game. plus i have tons of room on my harddrive.. Space used is 21.4 GB and space free is 158 GB. lots of room. i will try installing an expansion pack without downloading from the net to see if it works. It is very confusing. It also might have to do with the download wizard at sims resource so i will try to download throught zip files to see if it works. Thank you. I'm sure, you'll stumble upon very similar sentence, at some point.Quote from: Broni on July 18, 2008, 05:39:15 PM QuotePlease let us know how you make out! This sentence is almost forbidden around here. I stand aloof from the deviant minds at CH! OK. I'll try to explain. There is (was) one CH member, who, in order to increase his posts count (I guess), kept posting something either TOTALLY irrelevant, or sentences like the above... "let us know how you make out!" was probably one of the most frequently used.... Now, you know...LOLQuote from: Broni on July 18, 2008, 06:14:19 PM OK. I'll try to explain. Whoops!
