Solve : Help With Problem Viewing/Exploring Cds/Dvds??

Answer»

Hi, i'm not sure if this is a problem with my computer or my dvd drive... :-/

What it is:

EVERYTIME i load a dvd/cd it AUTORUNS as normal if that's what it does.

I get the standard Windows XP pop up - 'What would you like to do with this disk?' and it GIVES me a few options, 'views files in folder' 'play cd/dvd in WMP or Power DVD', 'View Pictures using Jessops Photofinder' etc etc

Now if i select any of these most of these work, you can use a music cd or dvd film as usual and watch it perfectly.

But if you select 'open folder to view files' or go through my computer to explore the disk in the drive, ABSOLUTELY nothing happens.

Really causing me bother with data backup disks i'm trying to use with no sucess WHATSOEVER.

I have Windows XP SP2 btw...

Anyone came across this before or know how it can be fixed?

Any help appreciated please!

Yeah, i've tried that but i still have no joy opening the drive.

Even through Windows Explorer or My Computer, when i try to select it to look at what's there nothing happens whatsoever... :-/

Thanks anyway...
