Afternoon,
Can someone EXPLAIN and suggest how can I get rid or solve the following; when my Laptop starts (Dell Inspiron 8600) there is an error message appearing, the message states: on the top corner; RUN dll, on the inside of the box; C:\WINDOWS\System32\olrslptm.dll not found. Believe me I have tried numerous places, people, but no luck. If anybody has encounter something like that, please share information on it, or any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. You may have been infected by a rootkit, they choose a random name for the file, so you won't find it by a web search, you MIGHT need to use some virus protection and use a program called Hijack This!

Please be advised...only used HijackThis to scan your computer and produce a log for us to look at. Don't TRY to fix anything yourself.Sorry guys, my second computer also went kaput (not sure if spelled correctly ). Anyhow until today I have access to my own computer. I took all of the information that I had and did a clean reinstall of the OS (XP). Also when trying to download HijackThis I had a problem so I took the path I previously mentioned. Anyways, now I will download HijackThis and have it just in case. Thanks for the response. Hope to SEE information here and maybe someday give ideas on fixing problems.
