Solve : Hibernate- different problem?

Answer»

Everytime I use Hibernate and I awake the computer, the Case changes from regular to Capital letters.  If I hit the "Caps" key, I get small case, visa versa.

Also the browser is "wacky".  I can't OPEN any emails.  I can access my EMAIL home page, but can't do anything else.  I plan not to use Hibernate any more, will just have to keep starting up the computer everytime I WANT to use it, but am
wondering why "Hibernate" could cause such weird issues. what windows do you have?Sorry, I am useing XP, Media Editionto disable it go to control panel > power options> hibernationThanks, I know how to disable it, I was just wondering why I get the problems associated with activating the Hibernation status.  Guess it will remain one of those "computer mysteries".  ummm. im not sure maybe another member or two might have a theory Quote from: janey9 on July 19, 2007, 09:11:57 AM

So, you have to restart your computer to resolve this?

I have a similar problem; actually, it seems to happen when coming out of Standby, not Hibernation.  I discovered that hitting the Shift key once or twice resolves it.  I believe Logitech's SetPoint software that I installed for my Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo is the culprit.

What keyboard and mouse do you have?  Did you install software from the keyboard and mouse manufacturer? This is a new computer (Gateway) came with mouse and keyboard and I haven't changed a thing.  I'll TRY your suggestion about the Shift Key.  It's not a big thing, but I would like to the Hibernation option so I don' t have to keep re-starting the computer.Sometimes computers just have these problems with Hibernate and Standby, usually caused by a piece of hardware or a drive not being fully compatible with these power saving modes.
I know if I resume from Standby, my PC is very slow compared to how it was BEFOREHAND, and resuming from Hibernate sometimes caused other problems, so I tend to avoid either and just shut down. Thanks for your help.  I will follow your suggestion and just shut down each time.  I wonder if they ever try useing  these operating systems or just load them and forget it. Did you try my suggestion about the Shift Key?Not  yet.  I'm at work, but will try it when I get home tonight.  I hope it works for me.
