Solve : Hibernate/Sleep not offered for Enable is Win 7?

Answer»

I decided I wanted to take advantage of these power management tools but was surprised to find that I can't access them.

From the Start Button, the only options are Shut Down or Restart. Under the Power tab in Control Panel, the problem is the same; these options are not EVEN made available.

Any thoughts?

Shttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Sleep-and-hibernation-frequently-asked-questionsThanx, unfortunately the link wasn't helpful.

A while back, I was trying to work out another problem and it was advised that some drivers be updated. Specifically, I installed sp36491, 38834, 42635, and 45112. These are SPECIFIC to HP laptops and the NVidia GForce card. It may very well be that this current problem began post-install. Is there any way to roll them back? I can't find them in computer/manage/device manager.in the control panel do you have PERFORMANCE information and tools, if so click it and you will see adjust power settings click , then you will see create a power plan

thats what is on my WIN7 , hope it helps , harry Quote from: sanatana on December 02, 2010, 05:42:10 PM

I'm not sure what those numbers relate to, but if you want to roll back drivers it can be done from within Device Manager.this may be of some help to you , it only took a SIMPLE search to find them for you , it was no trouble to help you out

if you want to search some more just search for ONE sp number at a time

they seem to be  drivers of some sort

hope this helped , harry

In English speaking countries, we don't spell 'care' with a K. We do, however spell "know" with a k. IDK is a well known web abbreviation for "I don't know". Also we do not use an apostrophe before a plural s.

thanks salmon , we oldies learn every day  Also, like most tips of that type, it works just the same in Windows 7 as it does in Vista. I just tried it.
