Solve : Homegroup?

Answer»

I have successfully installed my printer on my new laptop, operating windows 7 64 bit, and suddenly it is SAYING troubleshoot, which I have done, and it is asking for 'homegroup'.  I do not wish to share my printing with anyone.  What is the best course of action. Thank you.Good morning dinkie and welcome back

With Windows 7 you can share folders, printers etc. When the PC is asking about homegroup "and it is asking for 'homegroup" it just wants to know if you want to join the network so there is other windows 7 PC's at your location. By joining the group it doesn't MEAN that you have to share anything UNLESS you wish to do so. If at your location you want to share the printer than you can do so if you do not want too then don't. If your printer is the only one you may want to share it but that is up to you.

Have a nice day, Mike Thanks you Mike.  As usual, your explanation is easy to DIGEST, and my fears are unfounded. Re my problems with the scanner, all is well, thanks to you, I must clarify, that I didn't 'tweak' your suggestions, I re-read them, and did it properly. Thanks again, EdnaGood afternoon dinkie

You are very welcome that is why we are all here
