thank U in advanceDoes the router provide DHCP (automatic IP address) services? Is the computer you're connecting from set up for DHCP? Is this a wireless network?this is a wireless network im not sure what DHCP is. on a computer that works on this network it says in "Wireless Network Conection Status" --> support - adress type: assinged by DHCP it also says the same thing on the cpu that doesn't workI fixed the hp laptop that wouldn't hook up . what I did was coampleted the REGISTRATION of norton I guese some how it was blocking the conection.
I still have the problem with a cpu on this network that says little or no conectivity to network this cpu used to WORK I swiched its wireless network card/antenna and I think it worked and now its been giving me thisAnother Norton success story! on the cpu that says no conectivity its not recieving an ip or a dns It is set to get it automaticly as are all the other cpus that work on the network i tried entering an ip and dns (once a proper one from a cpu working on the network and once gibrish both gave the same result) it says its connected but it's not so i THINK i NEED TO FIND OUT WHY ITS NOT RECIEVING AN IP AND DNS AUTOMATICLLY...
